Join Us As We Voyage
"Black to the Future"!

As we catapult into the future of beauty and business collides with innovation at the 2024 Twin Cities Hair & Beauty Expo, themed “Black to the Future,” we’re pushing the envelope by integrating futuristic technology with the rich heritage and creativity of black hair and beauty.

Since its 2017 inception, the Twin Cities Hair & Beauty Expo has consistently gained national attention, spotlighting the underrepresented communities of color within the Minneapolis/St. Paul region. The expo quickly became the largest natural hair & beauty symposium in the Upper Midwest. Striving to influence ethnic beauty, culture and entrepreneurship in this region, our efforts have been highly supported locally, and nationally.

Each year, consumers travel from across the country to join the expo, increasing revenue for local BIPOC businesses and expo vendors.

We recognize the previous limitations of our reach, and are proud to announce a more inclusive space that also honors the creativity of the hairstylist and barber communities as a whole, and celebrates non-natural hair wearers as that may not be conducive for every person’s lifestyle. This name change in no way takes away from our fight to bring awareness to the need for equity in natural hair for people of color, it creates a larger space in the celebration of freedom in Beauty!

This year, the excitement will continue!

You can expect:

• Top education from beauty experts

• Live Entertainment

• Dozens of BIPOC Vendors to patronize

• The opportunity to stock up on your favorite products

• Workshops by Beauty Industry Professionals

• The opportunity to expand your knowledge on Social media, branding, and more

Kaleena Burkes

Black women and girls face alarming rates of violence and disappearance. They make up 13% of the U.S. female population but 34% of reported missing women. Black women experience homicide rates nearly three times higher than White women and are 35% more likely to suffer intimate partner violence. They also represent 40% of sex trafficking victims. Despite these figures, their cases often receive less media coverage, highlighting the urgent need for focused initiatives to ensure their safety and well-being.

In 2023, the Minnesota Legislature created one of the nation’s first state Office of Missing and Murdered Black Women and Girls.
Twin Cities Hair & Beauty Expo is honored to welcome Keynote speaker, Kaleena Burkes, head of Minnesota’s new Office of Missing and Murdered Black Women and Girls.
